*Important Updates to Cabin Leader Hiring for 2026 (For Returning Staff)
This year, Camp Chestermere is moving to a unified Summer Staff model. Rather than hiring separate teams for Overnight and Daycamp, all summer staff will alternate between serving in each camp under the title of ‘Cabin Leader’, with opportunities to work in both areas depending on weekly needs, personal strengths, and leadership discretion. We believe this creates a more equitable, flexible system that recognizes differences between schedules, preferred programming elements, and allows staff to grow out of their comfort zones.
We do recognize that housing options and unique giftings or passions may create exceptions to this plan, however, most staff should be willing to at least try out both camp formats!
We are also removing the distinction between “junior” and “senior” staff. Regardless of age, all Cabin Leaders are entrusted with the same high expectations of ministry, professionalism, care, and servant leadership. Staff will be supported, mentored, and equipped to lead well, and we will continue to make decisions based on character, readiness, and demonstrated leadership rather than age alone.
