At Camp Chestermere, we understand that everyone's schedule is unique, and the time volunteers can offer varies. Whether you have a few hours, a week, or more extensive availability, please know that your commitment is genuinely valued and makes a significant impact. Your dedication, no matter the amount, contributes to our mission of creating memorable and transformative experiences for campers, and we are immensely grateful for your service. Every moment you share with us helps shape the future and success of our camp, and we couldn't do it without you.

Summer Volunteers

July and August are a whirlwind of fun and hardwork at Camp, with dozens of people working together to ensure every kid has a great experience. Join our team of behind-the-scenes heroes and play a vital role in making our summer run smoothly and efficiently, while enjoying the satisfaction of knowing you're an essential part of creating cherished summer memories.

Here's some ideas* of things you could help Camp Chestermere with during the summer:

  1. Drive the Boats - take kids powertubing!

  2. Maintenance and Groundskeeping: Help maintain camp facilities, including gardening, painting, and general upkeep. Tasks could include but are not limited to:

    • ​Maintaining the camp's lawns by mowing, trimming, and fertilizing as needed.

    • Cleaning: a vital part of our daily upkeep. So easy to jump in and help out!

    • Assisting in minor repairs and maintenance of camp buildings, cabins, and other structures.

    • Enhance the camp's appearance by maintaining landscaping, painting, and general aesthetic improvements.

  3.  Theme Dinner Decorator: Help decorate the dining room for our weekly Theme Dinners!

  4. Camp Store Helper: Run the camp store, managing sales of merchandise and snacks.

  5. Kitchen Help: Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and kitchen cleanup to ensure campers are well-fed.

  6. Camp Office Helper: Assist with administrative tasks

  7. Camp Nurse or Medic Helper: Provide medical assistance and first aid to campers and staff as needed. 

  8. Worship Band Member: Play in a worship band for our daily Fireside/ Chapel times. We always need more musicians! 

  9. Camp Speaker: Teach our kids how much God loves them!

Year Round Volunteers

Volunteers play a crucial role in sustaining our non-profit camp throughout the year because, while the summer camp season may come to a close, the ongoing maintenance, hosting rentals, and necessary repairs demand ongoing attention and resources. Your dedication and support ensure that our camp remains a welcoming and well-maintained space for all, contributing to the longevity and success of our mission.

Here's some ideas* of things you could help Camp Chestermere with during the year:

  1. Maintenance and Groundskeeping: Help maintain camp facilities, including gardening, painting, and general upkeep. Tasks could include but are not limited to:

    • ​Winterizing the site in the Fall and Dewinterizing the site in the Spring 

    • Cleaning: a vital part of our daily upkeep. So easy to jump in and help out!

    • Assisting in minor repairs and maintenance of camp buildings, cabins, and other structures.

    • Enhance the camp's appearance by maintaining landscaping, painting, and general aesthetic improvements.

  2. Kitchen Help: Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and kitchen cleanup to ensure campers are well-fed.

  3. Camp Office Helper: Assist with administrative tasks

  4. Worship Band Member: Play in a worship band for our monthly Ekklesia worship night. We always need more musicians! 

  5. Camp Speaker: Teach our kids how much God loves them at our weekend long School Year Camps!

  6. Fundraising Support: Help plan and execute fundraising events or campaigns to secure financial resources for the camp.

  7. Program Development: Contribute ideas and assistance in developing new programs or enhancing existing ones.

  8. Events: Help out at special events, such as Fall Fest, fundraisers, or Family Fun Fair, and more.

  9. Photography and Videography: Capture and document camp activities, events, and camp life to create visual content.

Kitchen Volunteers

Our camp kitchen is a constant hub of activity, making it a space where volunteers are continually needed. Whether it's preparing delicious meals for summer campers, assisting with food preparation for school-year rental groups, or maintaining the highest cleanliness standards, we welcome volunteers to join us in this vital role.
