Response to COVID-19

March 13, 2020

Good morning everyone,

Due to the new public health restrictions set out by Alberta Health, the advice of medical professionals, and in keeping with community efforts to be socially responsible, Camp Chestermere will not be holding the School Year Camp or CLTD scheduled for March 13 - 15, 2020.

In regards to our Guest Bookings, we are currently still going to be open for these. We are monitoring the situation very closely and will make changes as per the recommendations of Alberta Health and the health professionals we are in contact with. As we have seen over the past 72 hours, this is a rapidly changing situation with new information coming out almost every hour. We will keep our Guest Groups well informed as the situation evolves.

Camp Chestermere is taking the necessary steps to safeguard our guests by increasing our cleaning protocols and paying particular attention to high-touch surface areas. We are providing hand sanitizer throughout the facility, and all staff are following good hand hygiene practices. As per Alberta Health, we encourage you to take these steps to protect yourself and your family:

  • If you are feeling sick, please stay home.

  • Practice frequent hand hygiene and coughing/sneezing etiquette.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

  • Please do not visit our site if you have travelled internationally in the past 2 weeks

  • Call 811 if you think you may have COVID-19 symptoms.

For more information on healthy habits and about COVID19, visit https://www.alberta.ca/index.aspx.

Please continue to check our website and our social media platforms for more information.

Thank you for your ongoing love, support and prayers for Camp Chestermere. Please know that your health and safety and that of our team and community are of utmost concern and we are doing our best to mitigate the risk the virus may pose. We hope that this situation passes quickly so that Camp Chestermere, our province, our country and the world at large can return to a sense of normalcy. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at campdirector@campchestermere.com or at 403 483 0603. Thank you again for your support.
