Some BIG Updates from Camp Chestermere

Good afternoon everyone,

Here are some exciting updates and announcements from Camp Chestermere.

2017 BEAR HUG Campaign

Our Fundraising Campaign for 2017 is called BEAR HUG. B.E.A.R. stands for Buildings, Expansion, Arts, and Renovations. This is an extension of our 2016 HUG (Help Us Grow) campaign. Help Us Grow in our Buildings, our Expansion, our Arts, and in our Renovations.

BEAR HUG has lots of cool new features and surprises in store. Be sure to watch for updates via email, on our website, and on social media. BEAR HUG will officially launch on Monday April 10 but watch for the teasers coming out via social media before then.

BEAR HUG Fundraising Dinner

SAVE THE DATE. May 16, 2017 is our annual fundraising dinner. Tickets are just $25. Buy a whole table of 8 for just $200. There will be a silent auction, photo booth, and lots of fun other things happening as well. Punch is at 6:00 and dinner at 6:30. Come, bring friends, and be a part of BEAR HUG 2017. Tickets go on sale Monday April 10, 2017. Lots of surprises in store. Would love to see TONS of alumni there. It's going to be an awesome night of celebration.

Silent Auction Items Needed

We are currently collecting items for the Silent Auction. If you would like to donate an item or if you know of someone who would then please have them contact Camp Director Shannon (Coach) at We have a donation letter ready to hand out if needed.

Gift Cards

Camp Chestermere now has reloadable gift cards. That's right, you can purchase a gift card for yourself or for a friend. Gift cards can be used to pay for camp registrations, Horton's Hut Merchandise, and camp events. There is a $2 administration fee the first time you buy the cards. A great present to help get people to camp. Contact Office Manager Chantel (Lilac) at for more information. Again, cards are reloadable. There is no charge to reload a card after it is purchased the first time.

New Staff Member

We are excited to announce that we have a new staff member joining our team. Her name is Suzanne Ritchie. Suzanne and her family have been involved with the camp for a number of years. Her children were campers and staff members and her husband served on the board. Suzanne will be joining us in the kitchen and we are very excited to have her.

Help Needed

Love spending time on the internet? Want to help Camp Chestermere with finances? We are looking for one or two people who would be interested in donating time to help find grants. Camp Chestermere staff can write the grants but finding grants takes some time. If you would be interested in searching for grants then please contact Camp Director Shannon (Coach) at and he will provide more information. We have some search tools to help you.


Friday April 28 - Sunday April 30 INFUZE - UNITE

Our annual young adult 18+ conference is fast approaching. This is a great spiritual development opportunity for young adults and youth leaders. Matt Dyck from Sunwest Church is our keynote speaker and Chris King is leading worship. Session speakers include Connie Jakab, Levi Switzer, Matt Pare, Colton Willms, and Philip Pickard. Friday May 26 and Saturday May 27 Country Connections

Camp Chestermere is again partnering with the Chestermere Ag Society and the Rabbit Breeders of Southern Alberta to bring you Country Connections. This will be fun time for the whole family and will include a market, activities, a movie night, food, pony rides and so, so, so much more.

FUN 4 FUN Adults Being Kids so Kids Can Be Kids

FUN 4 FUN is back for its second year. FUN 4 FUN is a chance for adults to come and experience camp for a day. Registration is just $50 and all money from FUN 4 FUN goes to our Camper Assistance Program - JAR JAR's KIDS. JAR JAR's KIDS helps children be able to come to camp who otherwise may not be able to afford to do so. Come and do activities and enjoy the food and help send kids to camp.
